The "Super" Cub


The Super Cub is used for our Bush Pilot Tours

This amazing aircraft is a 1977 Piper PA-18 with a 160hp Lycoming engine. It is outfitted with 31" Alaska Bushwheel tires and has an empty weight of 1225 lbs with a gross weight of 1750 lbs. It sports an 82" Borer propeller, extended gear, VGs and cruises at 92 MPH. It burns 8.5-9 GPH,

Takeoff distance empty 50-75',
Takeoff distance at gross 150-200',
Landing distance 100-200'!

Lands anywhere there is enough room and
the surface has bumps or rocks no greater than 12"!


The Pacer

The Pacer is used for our Bush, Float, Ski, and Mountain flying courses.

Our affiliate, Alaska Floats, operates this highly modified PA-20 w/ extended wings and a 160 HP Lycoming. It has a high performance 82" propellor with a special STC for Maximum performance. Service ceiling is 17,000 feet and has a gross weight of 2000 pounds. Useful load on skis/wheels is 835 lb's.
It has 31" Alaska bush wheels with a Scott 8" tail wheel. Side by side seating allows instructor to up the level of training because the visibility is the same.


The "Super" Champ

The Champ is used for our Private Pilot training, Tailwheel Endorsments, and Ski Courses

It is a 1960 Aeronca-Champion Model 7HC "Champ". A tandem (in line) two seat aircraft. The Champ cruises at about 100 mph. This fine bird is powered by a 140 horsepower Lycoming engine that burns 6 gallons of fuel per hour. The aircraft has an empty weight of 1100 pounds and a gross weight of 1650 pounds. That's 550 pounds of payload! It is equipped with 39 gallon fuel tanks. That's 6 and 1/2 hours endurance or 650 miles range!

The fuselage is constructed of steel tubing. The wings are made of aluminum ribs and spars. The entire aircraft is covered with aircraft grade polyester fabric.

The Champ is equipped with a full electrical system, full radio and transponder capability, a handheld GPS receiver, and Cleveland double puck hydraulic brakes.

All of our aircraft are extremely well maintained. Every year, each aircraft is nearly dismantled and inspected, any discrepancies, which are few, are immediately repaired. In addition to this yearly annual inspection, each aircraft has the same inspection done every 100 hours time in service. Between 100 hour inspections, the oil is changed regularly and any mid inspection discrepancies are remedied.
