Airplane Single Engine Sea Plane- Float Rating

Earn your Airplane Single Engine Sea Plane Rating while exploring the added freedom of float flying in a 180 hp PA-18 SuperCub .

You will learn new skills while discovering the numerous lakes of the upper Susitna valley with Mount McKinley as a backdrop.

The Float Course includes normal, rough, glassy water, and confined area takeoffs and landings, idle, step and plow taxiing.

The course also covers docking, ramping, beaching, and even a little fishing on the side!

The Float Rating consists of 2 hours of ground instruction per day along with 2 flights per day. Check ride is on the third day.
