Mountain Flying Checkout

Alaska, the home of Mt. McKinley (or Denali), the tallest peak in North America, is most likely the best place on earth to recieve mountain flying instruction.

The Alaska Range, which includes Denali, is only 60 air miles Northwest of Talkeetna. Just to our east are the Talkeetna Mountains, with peaks over 8000 ft and glaciers as far as the eye can see.

Our mountain training course can be tailored to your desires, but typically consists of 3-4 hours of ground training and 3-5 hours of flight training. We discuss aircraft performance considerations, density altitude effects, mountain weather hazards, and mountain flying techniques and procedures.

Our instructors have been doing this type of flying for years and take pleasure in sharing their skills and knowledge with you in order to increase your abilities and to make you a safer pilot.

Alaska's remote airstrips make it possible to combine the mountain flying checkout with our precision off airport training!
